About the Documentary History Program for Youth:

Each year, youth participants create short documentary films as a way to explore some aspect of the social, political and cultural history of Philadelphia. This year, the teens worked collaboratively to produce short films reflecting the universal and timely theme of “Health.” In the wake of a global health pandemic, our young filmmakers have dedicated their talents to explore and investigate the many ways industries of health and wellness have intimately impacted the city of Philadelphia. Each film grapples with the effects of an ongoing pandemic, documenting COVID-19’s impact on essential workers and the home, or investigating behavioral health, urban farming, and food deserts.
