Short films were produced through Making Haiku into Short Films, a Scribe workshop led by poet Sonia Sanchez and filmmaker Nadine Patterson. The artists include Davelle Barnes, Particia Burton, Nafessa Collins, InnaRae Guy, Stephanie Malson, MaryAnn L. Miller, Lois Moses, Michele Paiva, Nadine Patterson, Patience Rage, Sonia Sanchez, and Garry Addison Schoolfield.

The work of Jos Duncan, a griot, or storyteller, with a camera, will also be featured. Her works capture intimate stories and characters, while contemplating cultural traditions, the future, and the gray lines between truth and reality. Featured films include Oracles (2016, 15 min), Revolutionary Love Stories (web series, 2016, 25 min), and Black Magic: Black Lives Matter Musical (2016, 4 min).

Summer Haiku 2016 (1:45) Images of water going where it wants to as white people do, a comment on privilege.

Davelle Barnes is a Black Queer Millennial writer and filmmaker whose content is rooted in radical change.

Inna Rae fuses the concept of Sankofa with her writing to encourage others.
ELIXIR (3:49)  In keeping with the subtle suggestions of Sankofa, watch one woman go back, slow down, and examine her state of mind,  learn more of herself and change one pattern of thought that no longer works.
