INSTRUCTOR: A critically acclaimed filmmaker, Jon Reiss has produced and directed three feature films, most recently, Bomb It, about graffiti and the battle over visual public space throughout the world. Based on his experience releasing Bomb It with a hybrid strategy, he has written Think Outside the Box Office: The Ultimate Guide to Film Distribution in the Digital Era and Selling Your Film Without Selling Your Soul. He created the concept of the Producer of Marketing and Distribution (PMD) in order to create a new crew member who would be in charge of a film’s audience engagement and release.
Jon Reiss previous work includes the features Better Living Through Circuitry and Cleopatra's Second Husband along with numerous music videos most notably for Nine Inch Nails, The Black Crowes and Slayer. Reiss also teaches film at Cal Arts.
