This workshop is open to all young people ages 11 to 19.

This hands on workshop introduces young people how to produce a live radio show and how through community radio they can think critically, experiment with digital technologies, and express themselves. Participants learn how a radio studio works from running the board, planning a show, being a host and DJ, producing short news spots, interviewing guests in the studio, field and studio recording and some audio editing with Audacity. The workshop culminates in a two-hour radio broadcast on WPEB 88.1 FM , a new community radio station for West Philadelphia, with students performing every role.

Clayton Ruley, graduated from West Philadelphia High School (1997) and Bloomsburg University (2002) with a degree in Political Science and Mass Communications. He currently goes to Bryn Mawr Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research and is in the Policy track. He has been a journalist, columnist, and sports editor and hosted his own radio show. In 2002 he helped to found GeoClan and GeoClan.com.

Norman “Bob” Green grew up in Philly writing poems and rhymes. As a preteen and teenager he participated in a panel group on Sundays and hosted a radio show on the community radio station WPEB 88.1, in its earlier incarnation, where he learned how to produce, engineer and DJ. He is also a song writer, music producer and founding member of Geoclan. He is recording his debut album
