Introduction to HTML & Web Design
DATES: Mondays, April 27 May 4, 11, 18 TIME: 7:00 – 9:00 PM
This workshop provides an introduction to creating a web site and provides instruction in HTML, the programming language used to create documents for display on the Internet. Participants will learn concepts of basic web design and how to upload content using the FTP uplink process. The workshop will also demonstrate some of the free tools and programs available to help you create your own website or blog. Bring texts, digital images and ideas and be prepared to experiment. Familiarity with PC or Apple computers is helpful.
Laura Deutch is an educator, artist and activist interested in telling community stories and social histories utilizing multi-channel environments and participatory processes. She is a MFA candidate in the Film and Media Arts Department at Temple University. She has a BA in Media Studies from Ithaca College and worked at the Pacific Film Archive at UC Berkeley, where she collaborated with award winning filmmaker Rob Nilsson to produce and edit, Security. She currently works with diverse community groups teaching video production and computer literacy skills.
