Intermediate Camera and Lighting for MiniDV Production

This workshop expands on Scribe’s Intro to Camera and Lighting to cover advanced camera operations including using manual menu functions; manipulating exposure and white balance; and understanding daylight, tungsten and mixed light settings. The workshop consists of setting up diverse shooting situations and filming sequences. It also includes demonstrations of more advanced lighting and audio equipment. Participants must have completed the Intro to Camera & Lighting workshop or demonstrate a working knowledge of MiniDV cameras.

Videographer and lighting tech Carlton Jones has his feet in both the independent and commercial worlds. He was one of the first instructors to teach videomaking at Scribe. He has shot and lit numerous independent narrative and documentary films including works by Tina Morton, Nadine Patterson and Louis Massiah. And he made the documentary Paul Keene about the Philadelphia-born African American artist.
