“Drupal” is a downloadable software package that allows you to easily publish, manage and organize a wide variety of content on your website in a variety of ways. Drupal is powerful and it’s FREE. Ideal for artists, activists and community organizations who want a multimedia-rich website without spending thousands of dollars or depending on a website developer, Drupal allows you to amp up your site with all the “bells and whistles’” – including e-commerce, blogs, community forums, video, pod casting and much, much more. No knowledge of code required. Participants will each be given a Drupal installation on which they can begin building their sites. Bring your own laptop and get a hands-on and thorough introduction to the Drupal system and how it can work for you.
INSTRUCTOR: Aaron Couch has been involved in new technology and social justice causes for a number of years. His recent experience includes Drupal development with EvolveStrategies, web design and video production with groups such as the Media Mobilizing Project and the Philadelphia Independent Media Center. Aaron does Drupal at Zivteh and is currently the maintainer of Views Galleriffic and Mailing Label modules.
