This program assembles short films inspired by a sense of place. Filmmakers Alison Crouse, Sara Zia Ebrahimi and Richard Power Hoffmann present and discuss their work.

Alison Crouse’s Farewell, Silk City (2007, 20 min) is a valentine to this landmark Philly diner known for its bread pudding and credo "eat it and beat."

Richard Power Hoffman’s Prayer for Philadelphia (2007, 5 min), grand prize winner in Great Expectations film competition, is a poetic musing on his aspirations for our City.

Iranian-American filmmaker Sara Zia Ebrahimi’s Cusps (2008, 15 min) explores her experience living as an urban nomad, migrant and immigrant in the post-industrial landscape of Philadelphia neighborhoods by combining film, video and archival photo images into a visual journal of the unresolved struggle to embrace change and impermanence in ones life.
