Street Movies! is a free, year-round screening series that tours regional neighborhoods, parks, lots, playgrounds, and community spaces and offers a program of independent cinema to the general public. Each screening is hosted by a community organization and followed by a moderated discussion with the audience about the topics raised in the films.
One objective is to get independent film shown into neighborhoods where it is not usually accessible. The other objective is to get the audience to think critically and talk about the issues presented in the works — whether they are animations, experimental, documentary, or narrative.

Is your organization interested in hosting a Street Movies! screening?
Scribe works with community organizations to coordinate Street Movies! events. The organization should have a strong presence in their neighborhood and should be able to articulate subjects of interests and/or issues the community would like to address through films. Scribe proposes a film program that is selected by a screening committee of community members in the neighborhood. Scribe supplies the films and equipment needed for the Street Movies event!
