Street Movies! presented by PNC Arts Alive

Inspired by the tradition of outdoor screenings at African film festivals and Philadelphia's street theater movement of the 1960s, Scribe created Street Movies! Now a summer tradition across the city, neighbors gather, lawn chairs and blankets in hand, to enjoy drive-ins without cars. This year’s exciting line-up of animated, documentary, experimental and youth-produced films focuses on themes of environmental justice, the lives of new immigrants, finding good healthy foods, and honoring urban green spaces. Programs start at 7:45PM

Is your organization interested in hosting a Street Movies! screening?

Scribe works with community organizations to coordinate Street Movies! events. The organization should have a strong presence in their neighborhood and should be able to articulate subjects of interests and/or issues the community would like to address through films. Scribe proposes a film program that is selected by a screening committee of community members in the neighborhood. Scribe supplies the films and equipment needed for the Street Movies event!
